Bristol Aerospace Since 1910

Price: £11.00

The year 1985 marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of the first flight on 30 July 1910 of a Bristol designed and Bristol built aeroplane — Bristol Biplane ("boxkite") No. 7 at Larkhill near Stonehenge —less than six months after the formation of The British and Colonial Aeroplane Company Limited by Sir George White on 19 February 1910.
Bristol Aerospace Since 1910 commemorates 75 years of aircraft manufacture at Filton on the northern outskirts of Bristol. In the 128 pages, Geoff Green takes a backward glance at some of over fifteen thousand Bristol aeroplanes built at Filton or by licensees. Some of these were mere prototypes while others were produced in many thousands.
Profusely illustrated with over 225 photographs covering the development of Bristol aircraft design and the evolution of the Bristol Works from 1910 up to 1985. A brief conclusion gives an insight of what may transpire in the final quarter of Bristol's first century in the air.
