First volume of the aviation photographs of Charles E. Brown.

For forty years the pages of aviation books have been enhanced with the striking images created by the photographer Charles E. Brown. The pictures speak for themselves and say much about the man who demonstrably witnessed many significant and memorable sights in his life.
In this book his photographs are shown, where possible, in their total format so that study can be made of the superb skyscapes which were intentionally captured. It is very apparent that Charles Brown considered his work with great care; the environment was as important as the aeroplane which was inevitably the reason for his being there. His use of light effects turn these pictures from mere records into the realms of artistry. The unerring way he successfully conveys mood and space is clear proof that his work was the product of careful thought and no mere accident.
