City of Lincoln: A Lancaster at Peace

The story of the early display life PA474, one of only two airworthy Lancaster bombers in the world. The book charts the gradual refurbishment and restoration of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's "Bomber" including the not inconsiderable task of having the dorsal turret fairing hand made and installed, complete with "taboo track" gun deflector. The book also tells us what the Lancaster is like to fly and recounts some memorable display flights throughout Europe in the '70s. Copiously illustrated with black and white photographs, with a small colour section.
