{detailed description}"As my mind tried to register what I was looking at, the ball of light exploded in a blinding flash. Shards of light and particles fell onto the fog. Several cops ran into the woods. I couldn't move; I tried to cover my eyes, but it was too late. Now, right in front of me, was a machine occupying the spot where the fog had been." Larry Warren, former USAF Security Specialist
On three successive nights in late December 1980, England's rural Suffolk, East Anglia, was the setting for what is now seen as the most significant military-UFO incident in the history of Great Britain. Left At East Gate is the most comprehensive account ever published on this—or any other such incident and marks the first time an authentic, fully documented, military eyewitness has co-authored such a book. His first-hand account is unlike anything you have ever read before. Nor does his account stand alone: physical evidence, official documentation, and the accounts of other military and civilian witnesses also appear here—many never before published.
In December 1980, Warren was a member of the Air Force Security Police stationed at RAF Bentwaters, one of Suffolk's largest NATO bases. On the night of December 28, he was on guard duty at a remote perimeter of the base, and it was there that he was taken by truck to join other Air Force personnel in a wooded area about five miles away. This was the third night of UFO activity: it would also prove to be the most shattering. The men were debriefed the next day and shown an extraordinary film. They also were ordered to sign statements contradicting what they had seen, warned to tell no one about it, and told that if they did, "Bullets are cheap." Shocking as the incident and debriefing had been, things were only getting started: American intelligence was about to enter the picture.
Despite the personal cost, Warren began to investigate the events on his own. In 1987, he was joined by an independent researcher, Peter Robbins. Nine years in preparation, Left At East Gate is the result of their collaborative investigation.
