{detailed description}This book, with more than half-a-million words and 850 photographs, is one of the most significant contributions to the history of the Battle of Britain. It deals individually with the 2,927 men awarded the Battle of Britain clasp, with as many details of their service as the author has been able to discover.
The information has been gathered from many sources over a long period, the most important of which being the men of the Battle of Britain themselves. The author was fortunate to have the full co-operation of the Battle of Britain Fighter Association and to be honoured with a foreword by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
This book is now the main reference source for 'The Few' and is an ideal companion volume to use with the hundreds of books which already exist on the Battle and those which will appear in 1990, to mark the fiftieth anniversary.
