This book is a day by day operational record of the largest air striking force ever committed to battle -the United States 8th Air Force - which was based in the United Kingdom during the Second World War.
Cover is given to more than a thousand operations in which the 8th Air Force units participated between June 1942 and May 1945. Numbers of aircraft despatched, units involved, bomb tonnages, claims and losses (both to the enemy and accidents), plus a wealth of other detail are included for each mission.
