For this new and revised edition of their celebrated Mosquito, the authors have made some corrections of facts in the book, amended their Appendix 21 on Royal Air Force Mosquito Squadrons and Units, and added in Appendix 23 new matter about Enemy Aircraft Claimed in Air-to-Air Combat by Mosquito Fighters of 100 Group, Bomber Command.
Mosquito was awarded the C. P. Robertson Memorial Trophy in 1967 for the best interpretation of the Royal Air Force to the public during the year, in print, sound or visually.

From reviews of the first edition:

`For those with an interest in aircraft or the activities of the RAF during the last war, this book will be of absorbing interest. . . . This is the definitive account, profusely illustrated, of one of the most brilliantly conceived, adaptable, effective, safe and robust aircraft of the 1939-45 war. It combines a wealth of technical detail with thrilling descriptions of operational experiences.' H. M. Stephen in the Daily Telegraph

`It is doubtful if there has ever been a more comprehensive, a more detailed or a better produced book about one aircraft than this.... It is not only the story of an aircraft but also of the crews and ground personnel who had dealings with it. . . . It is a book which tells the story of the air war over Europe from 1942 through the eyes of the men who flew them and every known engagement and sortie is collated, every squadron strength tabulated, every base listed.' Flight International

`The creation of this war-winner is one of the great stories of British aviation, and C. Martin Sharp and Michael Bowyer have covered it worthily with a comprehensive and massive book.... The authors must be congratulated on the scope and thoroughness of their research, and their success in presenting it in digestible form. . . . There were many aspects to the Mosquito. No one who had anything to do with any of them should fail to read this book.' Peter Wykeham in the Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society

`An extraordinary monument to an extraordinary aeroplane. . . . To all students of air warfare they have contributed a document of the very greatest value.' Economist

`If wooden walls saved England from the Armada and from the power of the French, it was wooden aeroplanes that played a major part in Britain's aerial triumph in the Second World War. Just over 6,000 Mosquitos were built and the 43 Marks, one supposes, covered every category of Service requirement, and incidentally performed as a wartime unarmed merchantman for BOAC. With its 138 superb illustrations this book tells the whole story and is an indispensable source of reference for anyone who wants the facts, all of them, about what the Mosquito was and achieved.' Aeroplane

`Mosquito is an outstanding work. Within its 550 pages appears the result of research by two dedicated workers, who have produced a handsome volume after years of intensive study during which they pored over millions of words collected from a host of sources.' Airfix Magazine

`This is an extraordinary detailed account of the inception, construction and operation of these aircraft.' Cabinet Maker
