Silvered Wings

Price: £17.00

Here is a beautiful collection of air-to-air photographic studies of some of the world's classic aeroplanes. You will wonder at the early aerodynamic sophistication and clean-cut lines of the de Havilland Comet Racer, you will sense the noisy growl of the rugged Stearman trainer, admire the sleek supersonic lines of the Mirage and yearn to hear the thunder of the Lightning fighter. Gordon Bain's evocative sympathy with aircraft in their natural element has produced this magnificent volume of flying dreams.

Gordon Bain has specialised in the field of air-to-air photography for over twenty years. During that time he has captured a wide variety of aircraft types in his unique style of portraiture. His full-time occupation is as an air traffic controller at the London Air Traffic Control Centre. His first love is veteran and vintage aircraft, although he has often photographed fast jets and airliners.
