Chapters on Don Blakeslee, Don Gentile, "Kid" Hofer, Mike Sobanski etc. Also covers the author's own very eventful flying career. Having been torpedoed on the first day of the war, he went on to serve in the Battle of Britain and with the US 8th Air Force gaining 32 victories, and was eventually shot down and captured whilst attacking an Me163 Komet on the ground at Neu Brandenburg.
