A collection of articles, technical descriptions, and drawings from Flight International and The Aeroplane, covering the deHavilland company's output between the two World Wars.
The introductory pages briefly cover the military aircraft leading up to the formation of the deHavilland Aircraft Company, when it was originally known as the Aircraft Manufacturing Company Ltd. (Airco for short), and based at Hendon. In 1920 deHavilland proper was formed at Stag Lane, near Edgware, just up the road from Hendon.
The first aeroplane built there was the DH18, and the types that followed became household names. It was the DH60 Moth that brought the deHavilland company name to the fore, and Amy johnson and a host of adventurous men and women immortalised an aeroplane that was to become one of the most reliable ever built.
This book covers most of the deHavilland types built in the inter-war period, but not all are represented, due to restrictions placed on the weekly aviation magazines by the Air Ministry; also, not all facts and figure were available for publication at the time the articles were originally published.

Published by Flight International 1981 233pp profusely illustrated with b&w photos, line drawings, scale drawings, technical drawings, advertisements. 22x30 softcover, minor wear to covers otherwise very good.

Note:
"Long" descriptions, where shown, may have been taken from the book's dust jacket notes, and as such are relevant to the date of publication (e.g. any references to "new edition" "previously unpublished photographs" etc.) and not the present.
