{detailed description}The aim of this new series of monographs is to provide the enthusiast with a ready reference guide to the products of individual aircraft companies. This first title deals with one of Britain's oldest aircraft firms. Handley Page was in fact the first limited company formed in this country for the purpose of manufacturing aircraft -and appropriately this brief history is being published in the year of the company's 60th anniversary. Every aircraft, from the Bluebird of 1909 to the Jetstream, and including unbuilt projects-is mentioned, and many of the photographs are very rare. A full list of Handley Page designs with type numbers, first flight dates, etc. forms a useful appendix.
