{detailed description}Undoubtedly the most versatile British Aircraft of the Second World War, and a classic of aviation design, the Wooden Wonder', as it became known, had the speed of a fighter and the range of a bomber.
The first de Havilland Mosquito to enter service was the PR.Mk 1 photo-reconnaissance version in 1941.
The Mosquito's many roles included pathfinder to the RAF's night bombing offensive, taking over as the RAF's standard home-defence night-fighter in 1942, equipping a number of Fighter Command squadrons carrying out day/night intruder and tactical ground-support roles and, from late 1943, anti-shipping strikes for Coastal Command.
Perhaps the Mosquito is most famous for the series of daring low-level raids which it conducted, including the raid on Amiens in February 1944 and the destruction of the Gestapo offices in The Hague in April 1944.
This Manual was originally published by the Air Ministry and is a long awaited reprint of the Manual that first became generally available in 1977. It contains the fullest technical information, including handling and flying notes, construction and wiring details and instructions for ground crews. It is an essential reference book for aircraft modellers and enthusiasts, and a useful guide for restorers and researchers alike.
With over 160 diagrams and drawings.
