Civil Aircraft of the World

In the two years since publication of the previous edition of Civil Aircraft of the World, there have been a number of significant developments in the field. Most notable among these are a number of important new types of airliner which have moved from the project stage into full production, including the A310 version of the Airbus, the Boeing 757 and 767, and the British Aerospace BAe146. There have also been several new additions to the business aircraft field — such as the Cessna Citation III, Canadair Challenger, Mitsubishi Diamond, Learjet Longhorn 50 series and Rockwell Sabreliner 65 — and the development and production of helicopters has continued apace.
In this completely revised edition are included all the new types in production or under development in mid-1979. The presentation of photographs, silhouettes and data follows the successful pattern established in past editions with the inclusion of a new section on freighters and specialised types previously included in the section on major airliners, thus making more room for the inclusion in this main part of smaller aircraft now used in increasing numbers by the third level and commuter airlines.
