All delivery charges quoted on this site are based on Royal Mail prices. For large orders, particularly to overseas destinations, cheaper alternative options may exist. We are unable to quote these prices directly as many of them involve volumetric shipping and it is not possible to estimate the size and weight of parcels, especially where multiple books are ordered. If you would like us to check for alternative methods of despatch, please ask before placing the order.
We have limited the overseas shipping weight to allow for the weight limit on shipping books at Royal Mail's reduced postal rate.
Excess Weight Orders: If your order was rejected because it exceeded the allowed weight, please contact us for a revised shipping cost. Heavier parcels can be shipped by International Parcel Services, or it may be more cost effective to split your order into 2 or more packages. These prices are only available on application, and we would be happy to discuss options. Please contact us for further information. |
Back Orders If for any reason, your chosen book is not in stock, we will let you know. As most items offered are "one-offs" we can't hold back-orders as such, but we will gladly add items to our wants list. |
| Tax Charges There is, at present, no tax on books, or secondhand items, so all items are zero rated. However, local customs may tax imports. All parcels sent outside the EU will have customs labels attached. You are advised to check local regulations regarding import tax. |

Guarantee All books are secondhand, unless otherwise stated. Long descriptions are sometimes taken from the book's dust jacket notes, and references to "the present day", "the most complete work ever published" etc. refer to the date of publication, and not the actual date of listing on this site. Images used are scans, or photographs, of the actual book as listed, (we do not use generic images.) While images are not to scale, they are in proportion height to width, so if a book appears landscape format, then it is in landscape format! Images are watermarked with the web address: don't worry, the actual copy will not be marked! Sizes, where shown, are expressed in centimetres, width by height and are approximate. Terminology used in the descriptions are standard book trade terms. Description of a book's condition may not include minor blemishes such as prices clipped from dust wrappers, small inscriptions etc. Please see returns policy for further information. |
Privacy Policy Flyingbooks does not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. Your payment details are not stored. |
Returns Policy We check all books as thoroughly as possible for faults, but if any book fails to live up to its description, please return it within seven days, properly packed and in the same condition as it was received, and we will refund your invoice amount for that item, plus return postage.
