Cole Palen created one of the world's greatest collections of rare vintage aeroplanes, the beauty of which is that many of them are still flying. Cole died in 1993, but his life's work continues at the airfield of Old Rhinebeck where a museum foundation was set up and continues to nurture the collection as its founder would have wished.
