Joseph Juptner's U. S. Civil Aircraft Series covers all civil aircraft given an "Approved Type Certificate" by the U. S. Government. The "Approved Type Certificate" (A.T.C.) is a stamp of approval by the U. S. Department of Commerce, and is actually a charter for the birth of a specific aircraft model.
